WORTHING

SKETCH-CRAWL

Sunday 29th March, 2pm - 5pm

FREE EVENT

It's been too long since Drawing Room last put on a Worthing Sketch Crawl but this is what you've all been waiting for!

Come along with sketchbook, drawing kit and pocket money for a cuppa on the way! You can join us at any time and venue and stay with us as long as you like. Below is our itinerary - We look forward to seeing you there!

It would be helpful if you could email me to let me know you're coming - especially if you are joining us at Coast Café.

2pm - Venue 1 - Worthing Pier

Meet at the land end of the pier, but if you arrive later and we're not there, we'll be at the 'far-out-to-sea' end. Sketch sea views or looking back to land.

3pm - Venue 2 - Beach House Park

Meet near the main entrance on Brighton Road. If you arrive later, come and wander the park of café to find us.

4pm - Venue 3 - Coast Café

Meet in or around the café. Draw café life, beach life, artist studios or buildings along the seafront - including the building site!

Please check the website and Facebook page for updates nearer the time. As we will be drawing mostly outside, we may need to change venues/times due to bad weather.

Throughout the year we put on special drawing events which are in addition to the normal programme of weekly tutored and untutored LIFE DRAW classes.

In the past we have put on Worthing sketch crawls, special workshops and large LIFE DRAW events. Their aim is to encourage more people into the world of drawing, to inspire and to draw together as a group - a fantastic way to meet other artists and to learn from each other.

On Saturday 11th May 2019 we held another LIFE DRAW event - this time inviting trained animator and professional illustrator, Aaron Jacob Jones, to run one of his 360 degree Revolution workshops.

Aaron guided everyone through the method of recording drawings of the model as she was spun a few degrees clockwise each 15minutes.

The results were fabulous and everyone from technophobes to techno-lovers enjoyed the process of putting together the final animations.

Animation by Hartley Davies.

On Saturday 30th June 2018 we held our second BIG LIFE DRAW event inspired by the imagery and artistic expression of the WEIMAR BERLIN era (see images here). There were two stages, three hours of constant poses, four of the most incredible models, all recreating iconic Weimar tableaux all to a fabulous themed soundtrack put together by Kate Shields.

Huge thanks to our models : Kate Shields, Tom Formalin and Francesca Cluney from 'Artists Models Ink' - plus the one and only Arran Shurvinton.

Please check this page regularly to catch up with future events. Alternatively drop us an email to go on our e-mailing list.
